I found this video today and wanted to share one of the things I did while I worked as a historian at American University. In partnership with the neighborhood community, the Historical Society of Washington, D.C., and Cultural Tourism D.C., I served as the working group historian forĀ Roads to Diversity: The Adams Morgan Heritage Trail, the first historical walking trail in Washington, D.C. I supervised classes of students at American University’s public history program in the documentary and photographic research and oral history interviews that provided the basis for illustrating and writing the 18 signs on the trail, which I did in conjunction with some very fine historians at Cultural Tourism D.C. Learn more here. And next time you’re in Washington, keep your eye out for these signs – there are now multiple trails around the city that you can enjoy!

Thanks for reading!
